Appointments are typically made through the HiKorea website before visiting immigration. Walk-ins are increasingly limited depending on the location.
If you live in Asan, select the Daejeon Immigration Office Cheonan Branch.
If you live in Pyeongtaek, you will select the Suwon Immigration Office Pyeongtaek Branch (Songtan Branch).
Step 2 — Prepare Required Documents
Commonly requested documents include:
Passport
Copy of passport information page
SOFA stamp / A-3 visa documentation
Orders or Letter of Employment
Proof of residence (lease agreement or housing confirmation)
Passport-sized photo (3.5cm × 4.5cm)
Step 3 — In-office Biometrics & Application Submittion
Immigration will:
Review your documents
Collect fingerprints
Process your application
Provide a temporary receipt while the card is being issued
Processing times commonly range 3–6 weeks, depending on workload.
Step 5 — Receiving Your ARC
The ARC is generally mailed to the Korean residential address listed on the application.
Once issued, the card becomes extremely useful for:
Korean banking
Phone plans
Online identity verification
Delivery apps
Memberships & subscriptions
Easier access to Korean services overall
